Often ranked the best place to eat in all of Anchorage, Moose’s Tooth is a casual sit-down restaurant with a wild menu and an even crazier interior design. Look past the psychedelic art and you’ll find chicken pizzas, reindeer sausage and the Magic Impossible Cake. Of course, soups and sandwiches are also on tap – if boring is what you’re aiming for! There’s also a smattering of desserts with wacky names, from the Moose Pie to Death by Peanut Butter.

Dessert: Wild Scoops
This small-batch ice cream shop prides itself on using as many local Alaskan ingredients as possible in order to offer customers the best possible dessert experience. Their rotating assortment of flavors include things such as Talkeetna currants, Alaskan honeycomb and birch syrup. No matter which scoop you get, it’s certain to be one-of-a-kind – something you just couldn’t get outside the 49th state. In addition to their two brick-and-mortar locations, Wild Scoops is also dishing out treats from their downtown “Cone-tainer”, a refurbished shipping container turned ice cream paradise.
