Tucked away hills that embody Appalachia. Extensive cave systems which are still largely unexplored. Rolling farmlands that mark the start of the Midwest. And countless horse farms, distilleries and bluegrass tunes in between it all; this state is as exciting as it is distinct. It’s the home of a boxing legend, a famous president, the baseball bat and the Corvette. It’s where The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports takes place. It’s simply none other than Kentucky.

Bardstown

Known as the Bourbon Capital of the World, Bardstown is famed for its production of the whiskey that’s come to be synonymous with Kentucky. The town, located approximately 45 minutes south of Louisville, is the site of the annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival, which draws connoisseurs from all corners of the globe.
The state’s official song, My Old Kentucky Home, also traces its roots to Bardstown, having been written by composer Stephen Foster in reference to an 18th-century mansion which stands on Federal Hill. The history of the song, the state and the famed home are immortalized today on the grounds of My Old Kentucky Home State Park.
Cumberland Falls

Commonly referred to as “Little Niagara”, the main attraction at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is one of the most powerful and iconic waterfalls in the South. The falls are the second-largest in the entire Eastern United States. Beyond its simple natural beauty, the spot holds the distinction of being the only locale in the entire Western Hemisphere where a moonbow regularly appears. The phenomenon typically only occurs on clear nights with a full moon, and is reliant on a strong rush of mist from the falls.
